Dunnington spoiled York's revival when each pair scored 23 in their division one encounter.

Jamie Moore and Paul Gowland provided the best reply with 17.

Poppleton remain unbeaten in second place after winning eight rubbers against Bubwith, unbeaten John Moore and Mike Binns scoring 26. Doug Smith and Shaun Pinchbeck won Bubwith's only rubber 9-3 to finish with 17.

Civil Service scored 60 against Knaresborough, 23 coming from Sean Owen and Neil Johnson.

Rowntree Park did even better against Wigginton as Richard Masters and John Neary scored 30 of their 77.

Riccall kept up the pressure at the top of division two by beating York II 78-30, Dean Hopkins and Rex Pocklington scoring 28.

Copmanthorpe dropped only one halved rubber while beating Castlegarth 75-33, Paul Copley and Dave Dearing providing 28. Strensall scraped a valuable point against Poppleton II.

Two games down with 36 to play, Strensall managed 7-5, 6-6, 6-6. Pat Atkinson and Chris Evans scored the seven to finish with 23. Guy Fowles and Tom Cantrell scored 20 for Poppleton.

Wheldrake maintained their unbeaten status with a 70-38 scoreline against Dunnington II in division three.

Mark Bland and George Tattersall were unbeaten with 26 and were well supported by Colin Brooks and David McDermott on 23.

Equal on points and games at the top, Appleton Roebuck beat Cawood also by 70-38.

Dave Bradley and Paul Harrison scored 27, Malcolm Blackwell and Harrison 27, and Blackwell and Mat Kilgallon 25.

Bishopthorpe, with a match in hand, stay third with each couple scoring 32 against Wilberfoss. Tony Hart and John Major scored 27 in Poppleton III's 66-42 win over bottom-placed Fulford.

Boston Spa opened a gap at the top of division four by defeating second-placed Castlegarth 65-43. The Milne-Elliott pairing scored 28.

Third-placed Copmanthorpe did not help their cause, losing to New Earswick despite claiming a 12-0 walkover in the first rubber. New Earswick's third pair, Keith McInnis and Chris Deadman, overcame the deficit with 23. Selby kept their noses ahead in division five by beating Rufforth 66-42. Steve Parr and Fran Milisejovic top scored with an unbeaten 27.

Civil Service II earned their first point against Cliffe. Ian Ethell and Joe Scott's seven in the final rubber sealed the point.

Wheldrake II, unbeaten in second place in division six, beat bottom club Knaresborough III 70-38, Don Grant and Phil Williamson claiming 26 of them. Cawood II were level after 36 games but lost by four to New Earswick II. Nestl stay in the hunt with 80 against Bishopthorpe II with Clive Christisson and Richard Rafton top scorers of the day with 31.
