Heartbeat rogue Claude Greengrass - aka actor Bill Maynard - will open the Malton Motor Show.
Bill, who considers the town a second home, offered his services when he heard the show would be raising money for Malton Hospital.
The show is set to take place in the town on Sunday, July 22, with various events taking place in the town throughout the day.
Bill Maynard said: "I'm well aware Malton and Norton and other parts of Ryedale have had a difficult time with the flooding in 1999 and last year, followed by all the problems and restrictions of foot and mouth.
"Steve Smith, who is organising the show, has put in a lot of hard work and thought to make the event a great day for everyone."
