Dunnington enjoyed two exciting victories when their senior and under-15s sides entertained their Middlesbrough counterparts in National Club Championship matches.

West Indian one-day experts Collis King and Alvin Kallicharran were the heroes in the senior game with a superb third-wicket partnership to turn the game in Dunnington's favour.

Dunnington needed 20 runs off the last three overs to win and King smashed them all in one over.

Middlesbrough had made 196 for nine in their allotted 45 overs, Storr scoring 49 and Rashid 47. King (3-25) and Simon Kellett (3-44) were the pick of the home bowlers.

The visitors' total, on a good wicket with a fast outfield, appeared inadequate but both Dunnington opening batsmen were back in the pavilion after three overs with the score on nine.

The West Indian duo came to the crease and gave an exhibition of shot placement for singles and twos mixed in with some powerful hitting. They added 152 for the third wicket before Kallicharran was stumped for 71.

Needing 20 runs from the last three overs, King decided one over was all he needed. He finished 93 not out as Dunnington won by seven wickets. Dunnington now play at Ashington, north of Newcastle, in their group final this Sunday, 1.30pm start.

Dunnington under-15s were on the rack at 30 for five but showed great spirit to total 74 all out.

Middlesbrough looked odds on favourites as they progressed to 30 without loss, but all ten wickets were skittled with only 29 more runs added, leaving Dunnington as winners by 15 runs.
