Malton and Norton golfer Simon Dyson was hoping for the luck of the Irish today.
The 23-year-old got his Murphy's Irish Open challenge underway at Fota Island this morning in his latest tournament on the European Tour.
He made a steady start with pars at the first three holes.
Dyson looked set for a good position in the Great North Open last week but two disappointing last rounds left him well down the field.
