YORK Acorn runner Heather McIntosh took the high road to Scottish glory in a race on the Outer Hebrides.
She won the women's section in the Barrathon Half Marathon on the Isle of Barra, clocking 1hr 46min 36sec.
Acorn also took a title from the Walking-on 10km road race near Beverley when Bob Duncan won the veterans' section after finishing sixth overall in 34min 16sec. Julie Simpson was third in the women's race in 41-52.
Three times winner Darren Bilton, of Kingston upon Hull, set a new course record in 31-22 in a field of 440 runners.
The women's title went to Heidi Nicholls (Hull Achilles) in 40-25. Other Acorn times: Martin Kirby 35-32, Les Burton 41-05, Martin Lawn 41-45.
Knavesmire Harriers' Neil Strange won the 10km Yorkshire Veterans' League race at Harrogate. Acorn club captain Jerry Barnes was ninth in 37min 35sec, followed by team-mates John Duston (21st in 39-35) and Les Burton (40th in 42-00).
In the 4 x 2.5-mile road races at Mickle-town, the Acorn team of Bob Duncan, Martin Nice, Jerry Barnes and Phil Paxman were ninth out of 25 teams. Rotherham Harriers won the team title.
