TRACEY Farmeary turned in a high-scoring performance to clinch the York John Smith's Ladies League individual championship title.

The City Arms supremo scored two 24-darters in her 3-0 victory over Michelle Britton (Bay Horse).

Farmeary, who was voted Player Of The Night, also picked up the Three Fastest Finishes Award for her 15, 20, 21 darters scored during the season.

But City Arms were found wanting in the pairs event as previous title-holders, Bev Harton and Carole Pipes, were beaten by Sandra Bruce and Tracey Watkinson, of Castle Howard Ox.

In the triples, City Arms, the division one champions, fielded Farmeary, Jane Janes and Sue Smith. But Cygnet, represented by Anne Bass, Lynn Thompson and Dawn Exton, scored a 2-0 victory.

Bay Horse, comprising Britton and Karen Fratson, took the captain/vice-captain trophy with a 2-1 victory over Brigadier's Sue Lowery and Roz Kerr.

Bumper Castle closed in on the York White Rose Ladies League division two title by taking out fellow contenders Coach 4-3.

Jane Evans put Bumper into a 3-1 lead but Coach countered with wins by June Mallory and skipper Jill Clapham to set up a final game shoot-out. Catherine Gascoyne held her nerve to give Bumper the win which puts them only two points behind Coach, with two matches in hand.

Skipper Karen Coman recorded a 22-darter, but it was Fulford Conservative's only win as Huntington make a late challenge for the title. Bay Horse needed good efforts from Ros Fox and Angela Forth to secure a 4-3 win over Palace. Alice annihilated Nags Head 5-2 inspired by wins by Maureen Hisgoe and Jackie Peacock, while Collingwood recorded the same score against the bottom team, William, to keep their own title charge on track.

Skipper Beryl Glover was instrumental in putting Fulfordgate, the division one leaders, 3-1 up. Post then replied with Gloria Harrison and Pat Jones, but Karen Reasbeck put paid to Post's challenge.

Second-placed Sun's hopes are fading fast as they were beaten 5-2 at Burton WMC, although Sun's skipper Sheelagh Lord recorded a fine 23-darter. Elsie Blackburn gave Crescent a last-gasp victory over Six Bells, to maintain their hold on the third spot.

A great 22 darts from Gillian Grimes sealed New York's win at Tap, while middle-order wins from Ann Allen, Carole Coundon and Dawn Green saw Magnet defeat Deramore 4-3.

With Celia Wells in excellent form, Clarence registered their seventh victory, beating Bowling 5-2 for a second time this season.

Bumper Castle's 5-4 York John Smith's Mixed League victory included another fine performance from Dave O'Hara.

His singles win was completed in 19 darts and O'Hara posted 100, 100, 177 pair scores. Alan Etheridge partnered Catherine Gascoyne to take the decider at Cygnet 'C'. Huntington 'A' had 20 darts from Rich Plummer and 23 by Tracey Farmeary which helped pip their 'B' side 5-4, who had back-to-back maximums from Michelle Britton and Pete Leake.

Paul Partridge and Aline Turpin took the decider for Slipper 'B' at Victoria Vaults 'B'.
