I AM a York taxi driver and I think the ongoing work at the Copmanthorpe lights is a waste of money. All they had to do was close the gap and force traffic to the other end of Copmanthorpe.
The traffic which crosses through the lights is not so great and the pedestrians only need a foot bridge.
Taxi customers from all over the country say York traffic is worse than that in most bigger cities, so we could do without this ludicrous mess. It is York races this week and traffic will be diabolical.
