I THANK your newspaper and staff for the excellent article 'Wise old owls pass on reading skills', September 25.
The response from prospective volunteers to make a commitment to assist with literacy in primary schools has been most encouraging.
We have had 15 responses. If the replies continue we should meet our target of 40 volunteers in the initial stage. Your splendid feature enables us to continue our programme. Thanks.
