IT was interesting to read of singer Jessica Steel wanting to be a Pop Idol, (Turpin Rides Again, October 6). She should put this experience behind her and get on with her local singing interests with her band Blue Rinse.
Pop Idol seems a very cruel programme judging by the way it knocks people down to provide instant TV. But those who enjoy singing should not be discouraged because there are lots of local events and opportunities in the region.
Keep the day job Jessica, and look to improve your own group.
