Jelani can play a starring role for Andy Turnell's Ryedale stable at York tomorrow.

The two-year-old bids for the £12,550 Betfair.com Conditions Stakes over seven furlongs and is expected to take all the beating on the forecast soft ground.

Jelani coped with even more testing conditions on his debut at Haydock when winning impressively at 16-1, a victory which came as no surprise to Norton-based Turnell.

Underfoot conditions were considerably quicker at Ayr three weeks ago when Jelani turned out again, but he produced another fine display to finish second to the highly-regarded Al Moughazel after not getting the best of runs in a race that largely developed into a three-furlong sprint.

A decent horse in the making, Jelani is fancied to get back on top tomorrow.

Kieren Fallon, who completed a treble at Catterick yesterday, looks likely to add to his scoresheet on Knavesmire.

The former Malton-based jockey, heading towards his fourth championship in five years, can score on Hibernate in the betabet Claiming Stakes.

Trained by Karl Burke at Middleham, the seven-year-old won the valuable Queen Mother's Cup ladies race on this course in mid-summer and has run well in defeat since.

An habitual front-runner, Hibernate is likely to take some catching.

Dadeland should not be left out of the reckoning in the Green Howards Cup Nursery Handicap.

Following a good run at Ayr to finish third, Mick Easterby's youngster made no mistake at Nottingham last week, producing a relentless gallop to come home clear of her rivals.

Dadeland, who has already proved she handles soft ground, can complete a quick double here, despite a 6lb penalty.

Julie Camacho, who is set to retire at the end of the season, can win the Constant Security Apprentice Handicap with Nap selection Mindanao.

This proven mudlark will have ground and distance very much in her in her favour in this mile-and-a-quarter event and she will also receive every assistance from the saddle from the promising David Allan. A bold show is anticipated.

In the EBF Atlas Ward Structures Classified '85' Stakes, it would be unwise to overlook the claims of Celtic Island, not least because her trainer Mary Reveley has sent out no fewer than 10 winners in the last four days.

Successful at Doncaster last month, Celtic Island is expected to go well in the hands of John Carroll.
