Tadcaster East and Haxby's Ralph Butterfield primary schools will be among the first to play host to football coaches from American-based company Challenger Sports.

The Tadcaster and Haxby programmes kick-off simultaneously on Saturday, October 20, and run from 10am to noon every Saturday throughout the year.

The sessions are aimed at children of all abilities, aged between four and 12 years, and aim to develop the youngsters' footballing techniques as well as social skills.

During the upcoming half-term holiday, New Earswick and Kirk Fenton primary schools will also play host to a footballing fun-week provided by Challenger Sports.

The half-term soccer schools are open to children aged from four to 15, with varying programme options available depending on age and ability.

The coaching staff on all the courses will be lead by FA/UEFA qualified coach Dave Iddon, who is also Challenger Sports' regional manager in York.

For further details, telephone Iddon on 01904 758560 or 07801 552464.

Alternatively, telephone Steve Hewitt at Challenger Sports head office on 01384 354957.
