DURING the past year the Environment Agency has shown apathy to their responsibilities of water management and the reduction of high- level flooding of the Ouse and surrounding areas.
Many actions could be taken and put into place. Each would have a cumulative effect in the reduction and control of flooding.
But the first, and most difficult, is to shake the Environment Agency out of its apathy and pathetic excuses for doing nothing and into an attitude of drive and enthusiasm to come up with practical schemes and apply them. Not next year, or the year after, but today.
One year on from the floods we are in exactly the same situation for the same thing to happen again. Shame on you.
