TWO Leeper Hare York and District league premier division teams fell to first Division opponents in the first round of the League Senior Cup.

Huby triumphed 2-1 over neighbours Crayke with two second half goals from Tom Green and Andrew Metcalfe and an Anthony Luck strike in the 40th minute proved to be the matchwinner as Osbaldwick sent Kartiers out with a 1-0 win.

Haxby Town came within a whisker of taking Huntington into extra time. David Thompson opened the scoring for Haxby with Graham MacDonald equalising soon after.

MacDonald put Huntington into the lead but Thompson pulled Haxby level only for Jamie Seal to hit the Huntington winner in the last minute.

Malton Bacon Factory put visitors Thorpe out with goals from Nicky Ives, Nigel Allen (2) and Nicky Cass in a 5- 2 win.

Pocklington gave Wigginton Black Horse a footballing lesson as they eased through to the second round 6-0. Mike Murr showed the way with a hat-trick with Richard Millet, Baz Gargett and Alan Goodrick netting one each.

Matt Devereaux and Matt Glaves scored for Norwich Union in their 2-0 win over Civil Service. Duncan Quick (2), Miquel Lopez and Olly Uffindall netted for Boroughbridge as they defeated St John's College 3-1, Jamie Angelsea replying for the students.

Nine goals were recorded in the White Horse v Moor Lane League Junior Cup tie at Church Fenton.

The home side took an early lead through Rob Derry and were two up after 15 minutes when Simon Ashton netted. Moor Lane were back in business when the lively Paul Jones scored a hat-trick to give side side a 3-2 interval lead.

White Horse were soon back on level terms in the second half when Ashton struck his second and they took the lead when the Moor Lane keeper dropped the ball into his own net under pressure from Gary Rucklidge.

Lane's defence then lived dangerously as White Horse forced several goal line clearances before Jones bagged his fourth to make it 4-4 and young Andrew Kenyon hit the winner for Moor Lane with five minutes remaining.

Veteran Mick Kenyon, enjoying oceans of space in the middle of the field, was the creative inspiration behind many of the Moor Lane attacks.

Rawcliffe Rangers took a two-goal lead in the first ten minutes at Poppleton but went down 4-2 with Craig Suttle hitting three long range shots for his hat-trick and Chris Balmer bagging one.

League new-boys Sheriff Hutton went out at home 4- 3 to Heslington despite goals from Simon Roy (2) and Nick Wilson. Goals from Danny Walters, Matt Skinner, Stuart Dickinson and Ray Meehan won the tie for Heslington.

Strensall had goals from Andy Whitwam, Nigel Lyle and three from Mick Pipe in their 5-3 win at home to LNER Builders. The Rollinson brothers, Mick and Mark, were on Builders' scoresheet along with Steve Smith who netted from the penalty spot.

Steve Sullivan's long throw-ins on the narrow Haxby & Wigginton pitch caused early havoc in the visitors defence and led directly to his side taking a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes of their tie against Marton cum Grafton.

First Rich Iggleston latched on to a Sullivan throw, then the Marton defence were undone by another long throw and conceded an own goal and John Machin cashed in with the first of his three goals with Marton responding from the penalty spot before half time. Machin went on to completed his hat-trick and the evergreen Trevor Hodgson rounded off the scoring in a 6-1 win.

The Hamilton Panthers v Wiberfoss tie went into extra time with the home side eventually coming out on top.

Wilberfoss were two up at half-time with goals from Paul Walker and Shaun Hodgson. Panthers had a man sent off in the first half but they rallied after the break to draw level with two goals from Paul King and Simon Marshall hit the two extra time goals to give them victory.

Barmby Moor hit five goals without reply in their home League Reserve Cup tie against Easingwold. An own goal set them on their way with goals from Sam Hobson, Mick Barker and Two from Barry Shepherdson following.

All the remaining ties went according to form.

Civil Service triumphed 4- 2 over Norton and Old Malton hit five at Wheldrake with Paul Boyes (3), Sam Lander and Jamie Shepherd scoring in a 5-0 win.

Chris Tatterton scored twice from the penalty spot and Rich Daniels hit a hat-trick as Pocklington had little difficulty in beating Stillington 5-0.

In division one of the league, Hammerton took the lead through Tim Wilkinson but goals from Andy Tute, Alex Livie and James Bonarious put Post Office in command by half time. Bonarious netted his second with ten minutes to go to cap a 4-1 win.

Glen Featherstone hit Fulford's first goal against Stamford Bridge in division two from 30 yards and John Durham added a second before half time.

Gary Ratcliffe added a third before Sam Browne reduced the arrears from the penalty spot and Ian Constable brought Stamford right back into the game but Steve Dunn ensured the points for Fulford when he made it 4-2 late in the game.

Easingwold took the points with a 4-0 win over Heworth.
