TRY-SCORING ace Leigh Deakin has today re-signed for York Wasps.
The 28-year-old winger has had two previous spells with the Huntington Stadium club and returns on a 12-month contract.
He has been playing rugby union for York following a long lay-off with knee problems but has decided to switch codes ahead of the new Rugby League Premiership, which kicks off on December 2.
Former York Acorn amateur Deakin has also played for Hull and Leeds, but has endured his fair share of injuries, including the knee ligament trouble which forced him to miss the whole of the 2000 season after being Wasps' joint-top try-scorer in 1999 and top scorer in 1998.
Deakin's decision means he will probably have played his last game for York RUFC for the forseeable future.
