OLDER people's charity Age Concern has gone back into business in Acomb with the opening of its new shop.
The Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Irene Waudby, was on hand to officially open the new shop in the pedestrianised part of Front Street.
The new outlet replaces the charity's previous premises, which were in another part of Front Street and closed in September.
The ground floor boasts a selection of clothing, books and bric-a-brac, and over the next few months the organisation will provide new services for the local community on the first floor. This will include an office for the charity's insurance business, and a computer centre in conjunction with the charity's Target Third Age.
Age Concern York now has four clothing shops and two furniture shops in York, helping to raise funds to support its work providing services for the city's older people.
