A TOP snooker player from York will get the chance to fight for the honour of the city in a unique challenge match as a preview to the UK Championships staged at York.
The Cue Ball Club, on James Street, and the Manhattan Snooker Club, in Harrogate, are to hold open tournaments to find their area's respective representatives.
The two winners will then battle it out on the very UK Championship match table at the Barbican Centre on Friday, December 7.
Cueball will hold their qualifying tournament this Sunday, with the deadline for entries 10am on the day.
There will be a nominal fee to take part in the straight knockout format competition, with the winner going on to fly the flag for York.
