PICKERING'S Paul Davison is on cue for a place at the China Open after breezing through his first two qualifying rounds in Burton-on-Trent.
Davison saw off the challenge of Phil Williams and then Dave McDonald, both 5-2, to book a place against Liverpool's Rod Lawler today.
And Lawler, formerly ranked in the top 32, will be a tough nut for Davison to crack.
"I know him quiet well - he's reached the final of a ranking event in the past and was in the top 32 in the world," he said.
"I've played him a couple of times and it has always been tight, but this will be the first time over nine frames.
"As long as I can play well I will be in with a chance."
