York, who had lost their opening four matches, gained their first victory in the Brown Shipley Premier Tennis Winter League by crushing Heaton 4-0 at Bradford.
The remaining fixtures are at Graves, Sheffield on January 12, and against Doncaster at Goole on January 26.

Applications to join the IT Sport York and District Mixed Doubles Tennis League must be made to Barbara Leopard, 26 Granville Terrace, York Y010 3DY (Tel 01904 414414) no later than December 31. Changes to home match nights must also be notified by that date.
A total of 83 teams competed in ten divisions this year, making it the biggest league of its type in Great Britain.
