THE seasonal home life of York's first citizen was being glimpsed for the first time today as the city's historic Mansion House was opened to the public.
The Lord Mayor of York, Coun Irene Waudby, and the civic party were welcoming visitors to the building, where they had the chance to view its Christmas decorations.
Although the Mansion House is regularly opened to visitors, this is the first time it has been at this time of year.
