ON behalf of the president and members of York Lions Club I thank the people of York for their very generous donations during our recent annual house-to-house appeal, raising almost £5,000.
This money goes a long way to helping York Lions carry out much of its community work. The children's panto party at Yearsley Bridge and the senior citizens luncheon at St Peter's School are examples. It will also go towards the many financial requests for assistance we receive.
