YORK Wasps coach Leo Epifania will study the video of yesterday's Northern Ford Premiership clash before deciding whether Dewsbury Rams second row Jim Leatham should be cited by for a head-butt, writes Peter Martini.

Former Dewsbury half-back Mark Cain, who was back at Ram Stadium for the first time since his return to Wasps, was the victim of the blow just 12 minutes into the game.

Epifania told the Evening Press: "I'm not the type of person to start crying over it, especially as no real harm was done. If he got away with it on the field I'll cop it sweet.

"But I'd want to look at the tape before deciding. I'm not one for cheap shots, especially if someone gets a broken jaw or something. But back home if he's not copped any injuries we sort of wear it. We'll have to see."

The incident went unpunished by the officials, while Cain was fit to resume after receiving treatment.

Cain, who was otherwise untroubled by the incident, said: "He dropped the ball and out of frustration took it out on me. The game is tough enough as it is and that kind of thing isn't needed.

"Rugby league should be played on the edge, but he went over the top."

Leatham is one of only a few of Cain's ex-Dewsbury team-mates still at Ram Stadium. "I used to get on with him quite well," he added.

The match ended in a 48-6 defeat for the Wasps, who remain bottom of the table with no points from nine games. Cain said: "We will turn it round, but I think we need four or five quality players to come on board.

"Leo Epifania is working really hard. It's up to the players to start making all our tackles and keeping our error rate down."

Epifania had no complaints about the loss echoing that mistakes must be cut out.

"We improved in the second half but the game lasts 80 minutes."
