BAY Horse ended their successful York Atlas Auto Services Darts League division one campaign with a fine 5-4 win over Escrick.

Rich Corner set them on their way with a good 21 darter and Andy Lawson competently added. A maximum from Kev O'Hare and a fine 99 out-shot from Corner in the pairs secured the win.

Escrick, who needed five points to take runners-up spot, fell short by one but had Dave Pilmoor and Dave Bath among the tons.

Mal Scott gave Mitre an early lead before Tap rallied to take the next four games which included a bull finish for 20 darts from Darren Bailey. John and Wendy Smith combined to secure the win, while Mitre's best came from Sam Pearson.

Bishopthorpe finally came good and recorded their first win of the season against fellow strugglers Clifton 'B'.

Ian Gibson-Kate Perkins were match winners, while Tony Raymond notched a maximum.

Another 180 scorer was Volunteer's Paul Botterill, whose team beat Slipper within the singles. Paul Dixon found a superb 116 finish for 18 darts, while Slipper's Pete Turnbull shot a brilliant 16 darter for their only singles success.

Division two champions Cygnet took the major spoils from Acomb, who nevertheless gained four points required to secure the runners-up place.

John Miller scored well for Cygnet, while Trevor Hinde shone for Acomb.

Huntington, despite a fine 6-3 win over Fulford Arms, just failed to take second spot.

Crescent 'A' finished their programme in style with a 7-2 win at Ebor. Stan Isaac and Eric Baker were match winners for Crescent 'B' against Woolpack.

Good scores from Jimmy Joyce (21) salvaged the aggregate point for Burton against Howden Arms.

Bumper's Martin Watson was the only point scorer as division three champions, Huntington 'B', closed with an 8-1 win.

Six Bells collected the runners-up prize with a fine 7-2 victory at Reindeer, while Leeman recorded the same score at Indoor Bowls to finish third.

Division four champions Clifton 'C', beat York Arms 6-3 but York Arms took second place by a single point over Hospital Social Club, whose five points at Ship proved not enough.

The summer season starts on Thursday.
