THE first two cup finals of the RJF Homes Beckett League season are on the horizon.

Cup holders Rosedale play second division runners-up Duncombe Park in the Ryedale Hospital Cup on Saturday (6pm at Kirkbymoorside), while Aislaby meet Kirkdale in the Gordon Harrison Memorial on Monday (7.30pm at Pickering Town).

Kirkdale beat Kirkbymoorside Reserves in the semi-final thanks to Martin Charlton's extra-time strike.

In the Victory Cup semi-finals league champions Kirkbymoorside Reserves lost 1-0 to Black Swan, Pickering, Christian Walton scoring. League runners-up Rosedale lost 2-0 to Kirkdale, Mark Langdale and Adrian Voicu on target.

In a league game Black Swan came from behind to beat Aislaby 7-1 and go into the top four. Matt Cass scored four goals and Marc Dobson three.

This result put Aislaby into the Marisa Sports Trophy, in which strikes by Colin Frank (3), Colin Tate (2), Brendan Rudland, Kenny Temple, Simon King, Andrew Bayes and a Graham Duncalfe own goal saw them beat Bagby and Balk 10-2.

Division two champions Amotherby and Swinton beat Slingsby 4-3 on penalties after the game had ended 1-1. Mike Robinson netted for Amotherby, with Slingsby's Neil Jackson levelling and Darren Dyer hitting the woodwork three times.

Amotherby's penalty scorers were Adam Bray, Chris Smith, Simon Wall and Matty Biggins, while, for Slingsby, Dyer missed, Ian James, Jackson and Neil Foster scored and Ady Holtby saw his effort saved by Andrew Slaughter.

Rob Atkinson and Gary Mitchell (2) scored as Sinnington beat Ryedale SC Reserves 3-0.

Ampleforth, whose Alan Sutton was sent off, won 4-1 at Heslerton Reserves with goals by Ben Wall, Joe Casey, Kevin Wright and Dave Wallinger, Gareth Dyer replying.
