YORK City chief Terry Dolan has swooped to strengthen his side's attacking options by signing Craig Wilding on a free transfer from Chesterfield.
The 20-year-old, who can player either in midfield or up front, played two reserve matches on trial with the Minstermen, but Dolan has now decided to make the deal permanent.
Wilding, who has been training with the squad after being released by the Spireites, has agreed a one-year deal.
He
will provide competition to Lee Nogan, Peter Duffield and Alex Mathie.
Meanwhile, the Football League are set to set in to attempt to resolve the dispute betweenCity and Reading over the transfer of Graeme Murty. Officials from the League will be contacting both parties over the next few days to try to act as mediator.
The Minstermen are after the £50,000 owed as part of Reading winning promotion to Division One - a clause inserted as part of the initial £850,000 deal that took the wing-back to the Royals back in 1999.
However, Reading, who clinched promotion to Division One last Saturday, claim the deal became 'irrelevant' when Murty signed a new deal early this season.
If a deal cannot be struck by the two clubs, the case will then go to a FL tribunal.
