A NORTH Yorkshire businessman has invested £150,000 in setting up Britain's first Kall Kwik Digital Business Centre - based in York.
Robert Peacock, who already owns a Kall Kwik Centre in John Street, Harrogate, today set up the high-speed on-demand business service at Lendal House in Lendal, York, with three designers, plus two sales staff, shared between Harrogate and York.
But Mr Peacock, 47, who has been in the print industry all his working life, anticipates taking on more graphic designers as his client base grows.
On his list are organisations with large workforces, such as North Yorkshire Police, Corus Rail, Jarvis, and City of York Councilt, and he will be targeting York's hotels, theatres, architects, design agencies, training companies and accountants.
The centre is equipped with the latest digital plan printers, colour and black-and-white digital printers, with high-tech finishing equipment geared for rapid production of leaflets, booklets, direct mail material, architectural plans and training manuals.
Mr Peacock said: "York is the perfect setting. It's well-known for its history but is also a vibrant cosmopolitan city that provides Kall Kwik with many opportunities for business growth. The types of businesses based in the city are ideal for digital print because of its fast turnaround."
