The decision regarding the future of York Wasps Rugby League Club has been deferred to Friday, May 10.
It was hoped a meeting of the Rugby Football League Council this afternoon would see members allow the club to be readmitted into the league and return to Northern Ford Premiership action when that campaign resumes next month.
The Wasps had been folded on March 26 by the former board, with fans thereafter campaigning to resurrect the club.
