York made a good start in division five, beating Copmanthorpe by six wickets with wicket-keeper Phil Hulse in fine form.
Hulse took four catches in the Copmanthorpe total of 144 as Dave Murray's fast outswingers yielded 4-33.
The main Cop resistance came from veteran Geoff Deighton (23) and Aussie rookie Shane Green who smashed a quickfire 48. Chris Houseman, the York club chairman stroked his side to victory with an unblemished 79no.
Woodhouse Grange were restricted to 80 for 9 against the five-man attack at
Stockton and Hopgrove. Nigel Collinson held the Stockton innings together with the game's top score of 28 as his side won by three wickets.
The bowling honours went to Grange's 16-year-old Nick Hobbs.
