AS Mr Lewis does not feel the questions he raised about the Tennaco site development in his letter of March 23 have been answered (Letters April 26), I will try to do so.
Elderly and disabled people will have their needs met by the existing retailers who already operate a delivery service to anyone who asks.
The able-bodied can walk or cycle to the local shops as linking paths are included in the plans; but they can also choose to drive.
Depending on the type of retail shops which eventually materialised, the traffic flow could increase on those same narrow streets and the noise and nuisance definitely would.
Manor Lane is not a country lane any more and hasn't been for some years. It is a street in an expanding urban area which had been blighted by heavy wagons transporting materials and finished products for a large and noisy industrial operation.

Unfortunately reality has a habit of getting in the way and the economical viability of local shops is such a reality.
