POCKLINGTON secured the division two title in the York John Smith's Sunday Morning League with a 6-0 win at Carlton.

Robert Eeles and Dave O'Connor each scored twice with Barry Gargett and Neil Watt adding the others as Pock sealed promotion.

In their last game of the season, however, Pock went down 3-0 at Selby Olympia to goals from Lanaghan, Ginty and Milner.

Wigginton secured the runners-up spot in division one with a 4-0 win at New Earswick courtesy of goals from Matthews (2), Greenwood and a Hewlett penalty.

Volunteers ended on a high note with a 6-4 win over Pack of Cards with goals from Luke Bilham (4) and Colin Rayner (2). Neil Ducey scored twice for Pack, his second being a 40-yard drive off the underside of the bar.

Division three champions Thorpe United ended their busy schedule with two defeats and a victory over the last seven days.

They lost 4-2 to Nestl Flag, for whom Johnny Ross hit a hat-trick, but bounced back to beat Bishopthorpe 3-0 with goals by Moore, Joblin and Wood.

Thorpe then entertained Acomb SC and went down 3-2, a result which saw Acomb SC claim the second promotion spot ahead of The Mount.

It wrapped up a double after Acomb beat Yorkshire Herald in the York FA Sunday Junior Cup Final.

Opticare were crowned division four champions without kicking a ball when Burnholme went down 4-3 at Volunteer Reserves. Bonarius (3) and Bond netted for Volunteers with Thornton, Thomas and Bickerdyke replying for Burnholme.
