BARRY Noble majestically recorded 135, 140, 140 then 86 finish for a tremendous 12 darts in the opening York John Smith's Mixed Darts League summer season matches.

Slipper 'B' went on to beat Cygnet 'A' 5-4. Mick Willsden threw 180 for 19 darts and Noble partnered Aline Turpin to clinch the decider.

Cygnet had fine games from Dave Gibbons (18) and David Mason (180 for 21).

Beeswing had Jim Hawksby out in 17 darts but Queen replied with 18 from Pete Leake and Gary - Karen Richardson took the last game winner.

Keith Wright partnered Toni Smallwood to get Leeman 'B' the 5-4 result at Huntington, who had a splendid 21 darter from Tracey Farmeary.

Bay Horse 'A' maintained their 100 per cent York Atlas Auto Services League division one record with a 9-0 win over Acomb SC.

An 18 darter from Rich Corner was well backed by Paul Cooper (20) and Allan Galley (21). Trevor Hinde was Acomb's best contributor.

Rob Platt's 20 darter for Golden Slipper was bettered by a 19 darts from Bishopthorpe's Arthur Conyers, but Slipper moved up a gear and won 7-2.

Crescent 'A' top division two after a good win over Six Bells, whose John Quantock was in form. Eric Ellison hit the tons and was well supported by Mick Powell.

After Stan Isaac had levelled, Crescent 'B' took all the pairs to beat Fulford Arms 6-3.

Brent Conland and Graham Hudson stood out in Ebor's 7-2 win against Burton 'A'.

Roger Pirrie notched a maximum but Leeman lost 6-3 at Howden, whose Steve Burton also recorded a 180.

Bob Rochester was in outstanding form for Reindeer as they took the honours 6-3 over Woolpack.

In division three, Tracey Merrills was best for Yearsley as they went down to a strong Hospital Club team who were inspired by Simon Johnson and a 180 from Steve Rice.

Paul Horner's 21 darter influenced Alice Hawthorn's 7-2 victory against Skelton SC, whose Steve Reynolds shot 20 darts.

Puss beat Burton 'B' within the singles but lost the pairs games. Good scores from Trevor Simpson got Puss the aggregate.

Ann Robinson showed she was Winning Post's strongest link, but Bay Horse 'B' went on to win, with Jason Powney securing the extra point.

Mick Kearney and Nick Hartveld did well for Mount in a 7-2 win at Indoor Bowls.

Shepherd had excellent games from Owen Legg (18) and Chas Ramsden (19) and Mick Willsden was a 180 scorer.

John Waller (20) shone in Trafalgar's 8-1 win at Swan, whose Peter McNichol threw a 180. Gary Wensley (21) led Green Tree to victory at Osbaldwick.

Sun 'A' team's 7-2 win at Dringhouses included 18 darts from Chris Thompson, 105 finish for 21 from Doug Sutcliffe and a Tony Cooper maximum.

Mick Brookes gamed in 19 when opening Holgate's 6-3 win over Horseman whose Brian Harden shot out on 108.

Poacher pinched Bootham Tavern's unbeaten record after Bootham had led 2-0, Andy Turpin throwing 451 with 12 darts.

Ray McInally turned the tide with 21 darts. Lee Brundrett gamed in 20 and finished on bullseye as well as throwing a pairs 180. Poacher won 6-3.

Shepherd 'B' head division two. A 7-2 win over Slip included 17 darts by John Dykes.

Barry Houlden partnered John Morrison to get Groves the decider at Green Tree 'A'. Mick Lambert gamed in 20 and Mark Lea threw 180 as Flag beat Saddle.
