Trainer Sir Michael Stoute and jockey Kieren Fallon, who have won the 2,000 Guineas for the past two years, can complete a remarkable hat-trick in the Sagitta-sponsored Classic race at Newmarket tomorrow.

I strongly fancy King of Happiness to follow in the winning hoofprints of King's Best in 2000 and Golan a year ago.

Winner of his only juvenile outing, at Doncaster last summer, King of Happiness romped home two weeks ago by two lengths in the Group 3 Craven Stakes, a stepping-stone to Guineas glory.

King of Happiness will have to step up his performance a couple of notches to win tomorrow, but this handsome colt seems to have all the credentials to do just that.

Hawk Wing looks to be the main danger, judged on his three wins from four two-year-old outings, including a victory in the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh. He has the form and is a worthy favourite but is not unbeatable.

North Yorkshire hopes rest on Love Regardless, trained by Mark Johnston at Middleham.

This potentially high-class colt trotted-up in his only race last season, at Newcastle, and has been readied for this acid-test with two racecourse workouts at Ripon.

On paper, Love Regardless has it all to do, but he is held in high regard by Johnston, who won the 2,000 Guineas with Mister Baileys in 1994.

In the Victor Chandler Palace House Stakes, Fallon rides Continent, trained near Thirsk by the in-form David Nicholls. This smart sprinter has been runner-up on both his outings this season.

The Anthony Fawcett Memorial Thirsk Hunt Cup is the feature race at Thirsk tomorrow, and Tedstale, trained by Tim Easterby, is my Nap selection to win this historic £15,000 event.

A creditable but luckless third on his reappearance at Pontefract, Tedstale can take top honours this time under Robert Winston.

Hambleton trainer Kevin Ryan goes to Haydock to bid for the £55,000 Merewood Homes Swinton Hurdle with Gralmano.

Unbeaten in three runs over hurdles, Graham Lee's mount has plenty going for him, not least a glowing home report from the trainer himself.
