KARATE kid Ryan Simms has returned from his first overseas competition with a bronze medal.
The taekwando tot from Lordship Lane, Wistow, near Selby, was a big hit in the Masters Cup in Geleen.
The seven-year-old was a member of the Doncaster-based Ultimate Taekwando team who took part in the prestigious competition which attracted 350 fighters from 15 countries.
Competing in the Under 24-kilo class, Barlby Bridge School pupil Ryan lost only one of his 11 fights against boys aged from eight to ten.
