Just one win from five games failed to take the gloss off of Woldgate School's Under-12s rugby team's fabulous trip to the capital.
The Pocklington-based school had travelled down to Staines RUFC for the Emerging Schools National Festival group stages, where victory would have seen the pupils go on to Twickenham for the semi-final and final.
However, the boys found the competition just a little bit too hot, losing their first four games before winning their last against Granby High.
John Aikman also left the tournament with a smile on his face after leading the try count for the school.
