STAMFORD Bridge took over top spot in division two as they beat Bubwith while former leaders Tadcaster Magnet lost to the weather.

Bubwith made a first innings 167-8 through Gary Moore (39) and Brian Last (28). In reply, youthful David Chaplin (25) again provi-ded runs for Bridge, while Aussie Stuart Boyle weighed in with 44, leaving Paul Milner to clinch a five-wicket win with 40 not out.

Runs flowed at Wilberfoss where the hosts just failed to match Bridlington's total in a game which saw 472 runs scored for the loss of just ten wickets.

Barry Rudd starred for Brid with an unbeaten 103, while Wayne Oliphant hit 54 and Hafiz Khalid 45 in a total of 247-3.

Wilberfoss skipper Ian Clish led from the front with 93 as his side mounted an impressive reply, in which Dave Gilbertson made 29 and Mike Stothard 26.

Glen McHale kept the Seasiders just in front with 4-80 but Julian Atkinson almost snatched a victory with an unbeaten 25 as 'Foss reached 225-7.

Three games were casualties of the weather: Harrogate v Malton & Old Malton, Scarborough v Hornsea and Tadcaster Magnet v Castleford. Tad had been the only team to have won all of their first four games. The result of the Studley Royal v Clifton Alliance II game has not been received.
