Tadcaster moved to joint second in division five as they strolled to victory at neighbouring Bolton Percy where the home side gave a dire batting performance.

Kev Wakefield took 5-25 in 13 overs and John Reynolds 3-7 in six as Bolton crashed to 45 all out. Tadcaster then raced to an eight-wicket win inside 14 overs.

Both Taddy and Malton & Old Malton are now just two points off table-toppers Thorp Arch & Boston Spa, who were unable to make a start at Sessay due to the weather.

Malton & Old Malton stayed up there as they got the better of a draw with Rowntree thanks to a sound knock by veteran John Foxton (61).

Chris Smith assisted with 36 as Malton totalled 184-7. Neil Davidson was the best of the Rowntree bowlers with 3-51.

In reply, Alan Roberts made 31 and Stef Cockerill 30 but Rowntree never posed a serious threat and closed on 139-6.

Tim Creaser's unbeaten 69 put Pocklington out of Thirsk's reach when the teams met on the adjacent ground to the premier division clash between the two clubs.

Earlier runs for the hosts came from Gary Milner (64), Mal Harrison (25) and Graham Thurlow (27) as Pock made 235-4. Harrison followed with 3-28 but Steve Holmes made 32 then Simon Barton steered his side to a draw at 135-8 with an unbeaten 28.

Selby v Carlton Towers was another casualty as the Carlton club were denied any cricket on the day.
