NORTH Yorkshire golf ace Simon Dyson was left wondering what could have been after a disappointing second round at the Volvo PGA Championship saw him miss the cut.
Having been well placed after firing a one-under par 71 in the first round, the Malton and Norton professional capitulated over the second 18.
A two-over 74 left Dyson with a total of one over and out in the cold, with the axe falling on all the players over par.
Dyson was in good company, with Retief Goosen, Justin Rose and Lee Westwood among those who also failed to make the final 36 holes.
Denmark's Anders Hansen topped the leaderboard at the halfway stage with 11-under, while Scotland's Colin Montgomerie and Argentina's Eduardo Romero a further two shots back.
However, with the problems with his back once again flaring up there are doubts over whether 'Monty' will reappear for today's third round.
