DISINFECTION was today under way at a North Yorkshire school after more than 200 children and staff were struck down by a serious stomach bug.
Thorpe Willoughby Primary School, near Selby, together with its Honeypot pre-school and Pitstop out-of-school club, were all closed yesterday, after an outbreak of gastro-enteritis.
Pupils and teachers were said to be "dropping like flies" as the stomach bug swept through the school and adjacent child care centre.
It started on Thursday, with children and staff being violently sick.
