A DANISH woman has set up a peace camp outside RAF Fylingdales to protest against potential plans by U.S. President George W. Bush to use it as a base for his Son Of Star Wars missile defence project.
Ulla Roder has travelled from Denmark to carry out her protest.
Jackie Fearnley, from the Fylingdales Action Network, which is opposing plans, is helping Mrs Roder.
"She has set up camp at the base and is collecting signatures from passers-by," she said.
"She has been joined in her protest by a Buddhist monk who has also set up camp at the base.
"The idea is to highlight the issue and make people aware that we are concerned about this issue.
"We do not want the national missile defence system to be put in place and Ulla is hoping to highlight these concerns."
