Kyllachy, who looked an unlucky loser at Royal Ascot, can gain handsome compensation on the third and final day of York's Ebor Festival tomorrow.

The Henry Candy-trained sprinter goes for the £185,000 Victor Chandler Nunthorpe Stakes and is napped to come out on top in the hands of Jamie Spencer, who rode a double on the course yesterday.

Kyllachy has made rapid strides this season, winning a rated handicap at Newbury before clinching Group-race victories in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket and the Temple Stakes at Sandown.

He was, however, denied a four-timer in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot, where he got trapped behind a wall of horses and had to settle for third place behind Dominica and Continent.

Both those rivals are in opposition again tomorrow, the latter having since won the July Cup over six furlongs at Newmarket.

Dropping back to the minimum trip tomorrow is unlikely to be to the benefit of Continent, or indeed to Bahamian Pirate, runner-up in the July Stakes, and also trained by David Nicholls.

One horse who should appreciate the return to five furlongs is Danehurst, whose stamina just deserted her when third in the July Stakes. She has a major chance tomorrow, but her cause would be even better served on softer ground.

A fascinating renewal of this historic race is on the cards, and Kyllachy seems to holds all the aces.

The Peugeot Lowther Stakes is another cracking event, with Romantic Liason and Russian Rhythm, both unbeaten, taking on the Molecomb winner Wunders Dream.

There should be precious little to choose between the three, but Russian Rhythm, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and the mount of Kieren Fallon, showed class qualities at Ascot last time which may give her the edge over Queen Mary winner Romantic Liason, and Wunders Dream, who may be better at five furlongs.

Luca Cumani has trained eight of the last 12 winners of the EBF Galtres Stakes. Watch out for Rosa Parks adding her name to his list in tomorrow's opener.

Morpheous, highly-rated by Settrington trainer John Quinn, should not be left out of calculations in the Bradford & Bingley Rated Handicap.

The three-year-old had no chance from the draw over six furlongs at Newmarket last time and should appreciate this step up to a mile.
