IN the final matches of the York White Rose Ladies League season, second-placed Sun Inn, Acomb, completed the double over Fulfordgate, but failed to deny them the division one championship.

A splendid 20 darts by Beryl Glover put Fulfordgate within a game of victory but Sheelagh Lord, Ann Franks and Julie Scattergood cleaned up the last three for a 4-3 result.

Shirley Waugh, Carol Quantock, Jan Smith and Janet Clarke combined to take the opening team game for Six Bells but Railway Institute won the remainder, while only Pam Husband graced Crescent's sheet at New York, who had an excellent 21-darter from Marion Greenwood.

Winning Post's anchor Ann Robinson clinched the decider at Tap.

Catherine Gascoyne added the last game to Rose O'Bee's equaliser to give Golden Slipper, the division two champions, victory over Huntington Sports.

Jo Palmer produced a fine 23 darts but was only one of two winners for Lord Collingwood against Coach, whose Jill Clapham was a double-ton scorer.

Alison Briggs took Deramore's 4-3 winner over Bowling Club.

Alice Hawthorn were three up but Lord Nelson surged to the division three title with wins by Jo Piercy (23), Hilary Gelderd, Val Morley then Julie Child (23).

Tankard won 5-2 at King William which included a splendid 100 finish for 17 darts from Carol Fearn.

Chris Fearn rounded off Nags Head's 5-2 win over Crystal Palace.

Maggie Druett checked out 112 and was well supported by Daphne Greene (140, 115) as Cygnet 'A' scored a 6-3 win at Half Moon in York John Smith's Ladies League division one.

Cygnet 'B' captain Dawn Exton was again in ton scoring mode with 100, 100, 140, and her team beat Ox 6-3, whose best was Sandra Bruce.

Leaders York Arms' 8-3 win against Tap was rounded off by Roz Kerr-Karen Richardson, while Margaret Bell led Dringhouses to victory against Clifton 'C'.

Phoenix 'B' were taken to the wire by their 'A' side but the ever-reliable Tracey Farmeary-Sue Smith secured the decider.

Division two leaders Clifton 'A' returned to winning ways with a solid 6-3 success at Shepherd 'A', Jaqui Richford starring.

The battle for second place hotted up as third-placed Leeman 'B' took the decider through Doreen Lightfoot-Toni Smallwood against Golden Slipper.

Burton WMC had to rely on Margaret Davis-Jackie Ridall to make it 5-4 over Jubilee, while Mavis Gallimore shone in a Severus 6-3 win at Clifton 'B'.

The top two teams in division three were both put to the sword. Holgate went down 6-3 to Cue Ball, while good scoring by Old Ebor's Ali Williams and Jo Roberts panicked second-place Puss 'B'.

Leeman 'A' made the most of the former's demise by beating Tang Hall WMC despite the efforts of Marie Ward and Sue Wentworth.

Ann Reagan-Colleen Cunniff sealed a 5-4 Leeman 'C' win over Woolpack, while Mount's Julie Brownlee prevented an Ackhorne clean sweep of the singles.

Tracey-Sue Atkin put Puss 'A' all square but Mitre clinched the last game victory through Dorothy Barker-Freda Harman.
