BRITISH Sugar bowler Andy Heaton is enjoying the sweet life.
The 30-year-old medium pacer has joined the Horwath Pulleyn Heselton York Vale League hall of fame after recently grabbing ten wickets in a match.
He ripped out the entire Clifton Alliance team, taking 10-22 from 18 overs as Sugar eased to victory in their second division encounter.
Four of his victims were bowled, two caught and bowled and four other
catches made up the perfect ten.
Ironically, he only opened the bowling as skipper Wayne Bellerby, the usual new ball bowler, was not playing.
"It was a fairly slow, damp wicket, just perfect for me," said Heaton whose ability to swing the ball soon had the opposition in trouble as they were all out for 70.
Heaton, whose previous best return was 8-61 against Ben Johnson in 1996, said: "I'm hoping to get the match ball mounted. There is talk within the club that someone else at Sugar took all ten a few years ago, but we're not sure."
