NOSTALGIA is in vogue for three former pupils of Knavesmire Secondary Modern School, in Bishopthorpe Road, York, which closed some years ago.
Not fearing to reunite old enemies alongside old friends, Wendy Wootton, Mandy Yates and Sharon Clothier are organising a school reunion for the class of 1978.
Pupils from the class are now in the region of 40 years old and, following the success of the Friends Reunited website, are showing the sorts of symptoms exhibited by much of the country.
In other words, an overwhelming desire to dress up in outdated fashions, listen to the sounds of the school disco, and get together with people they have not seen in years. The reunion is to be held at the Winning Post pub on Bishopthorpe Road, on Friday, October 11, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and partners are welcome. For details of how to attend phone Sharon Clothier on 01904 763957 or send an SAE for tickets to Sharon Clothier at 66 New Lane, Huntington, York, YO23 9NN.
