Yorkshire's win at Lord's proves once again that in sport and, especially in cricket, it is a case of 'Aussie Rules'.
For without their latest Australian import Yorkshire would surely have faced an ignominious defeat.
After their Lord's prayers were answered, supporters will be hoping a second miracle can happen and that Yorkshire avoid the drop.
With the club's present parlous financial state, it is fortunate that the drop from the top flight does not yet result in the financial difficulties experienced by football clubs.
Hopefully, Yorkshire's new slim-line administration will be able to get a grip on the club's problems. For too long the club has been dogged by a case of too many cooks.
However, surely any debt counsellor would be perturbed to hear that somebody in debt should consider the solution to their problems was to borrow more.
It leaves one wondering whether Yorkshire also need an Australian on the administration team.
