DEEP Purple bass guitarist Glover hates nostalgia.
A few years ago he told a Toronto paper words to the effect of "Yes we have a past, but we also have a present and a future".
This solo album confirms he, at least, certainly has a future. Don't expect Purple patches here. This is a solid offering of 14 songs of classic, blues/rock with snatches of funk and blue grass twang thrown in.
Glover, predominantly a hard rock bassist, gives full rein to the musical influences he has absorbed during more than 30 years up in the spotlight and as a producer for the likes of Judas Priest, The Spencer Davis Group, Nazareth and of course, Deep Purple. Stand out tracks: My Turn and Queen Of England; so it's definitely a case of Roger ... and In!
