Gudlage, who last month at Pontefract provided Tom Greenall with his first success, can give the teenage amateur rider another moment to savour at Haydock tomorrow.

Greenall teams-up with the Mick Easterby-trained gelding in the Bollinger Champagne Amateur Series Handicap and I expect him to make a bold bid.

The success of Gudlage at Pontefract has been made to look better since then because the runner-up Gargoyle Girl has won two races, including the opening event at York yesterday.

Gudlage went on to finish third under Greenall at Beverley three weeks ago, but there were excuses for that defeat. The rider's saddle slipped and the distance of the race - an extended mile - was on the sharp side for Gudlage. Tomorrow he's back over his winning trip of a mile and a quarter.

In the King's Regiment Cup, I fancy Dayglow Dancer to gain some reward for his consistency by chalking-up an overdue success.

Mick Channon's gelding has finished in the frame in his last three starts. Steve Drowne has the task of putting the four-year-old's head in front tomorrow.

Lauro gets my vote in the High Peak Claiming Stakes over seven furlongs. Julie Camacho's youngster got off the mark at a similar level on this course and has run respectably in stronger company twice since then.

Coquetry can make it third time lucky in the European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes for Sir Michael Stoute.

Over the sticks at Sedgefield, Turtle Dancer is my Nap selection in the DDF Fairs Summer Car Boot Sale Novices' Hurdle. The ex-Irish gelding, trained at Norton by Brian Ellison, scored a timely success here four weeks ago when winning on Ellison's wedding day.

Lambourn trainer Hughie Morrison has his horses in fine form and can make his trip worthwhile by winning with Pessimistic Dick in the Royal Bank of Scotland Handicap Chase. Jimmy McCarthy takes the mount on this nine-year-old dual winner.

Phase Eight Girl scored at Huntingdon 11 days ago and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to prevent James Hetherton's mare following-up in the 'Happy 50th Birthday' Tom Ellison Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.
