SHARP-EYED sure-shot Peter Duffield will be looking to join an exclusive members' club against Bury tonight.

Should Duffield, who is currently leading the Division Three scoring charts, bag a goal against the Shakers he will be the first City player in more than 30 years to score in seven successive matches.

The last player to achieve the feat for the Minstermen was Paul Aimson back in 1971.

Only two other players in the 80-year history of the club have managed seven in successive matches - Billy Fenton in 1952-53 and Arthur Bottom in 1954.

Both Fenton and Bottom actually scored eight goals in their seven-game run - but no City player has ever managed to score in eight games running.

Should Duffield score tonight it means he could make history on Tuesday, when City travel to take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the first round of the Worthington Cup.

The venue could hardly be better for Duffield, who now lives in Sheffield and is a former Blades' player.
