A HUGE fun zone awaits racegoers who ride into the Evening Press Sunday Raceday.
York Racecourse is promising a great day of family fun for visitors who beat a path to Knavesmire tomorrow.
While there is no doubt that racing will be the focus of the day, racecourse chiefs have lots in store to keep the younger members of the family amused.
Swing boats, carousels, inflatable sumo wrestlers and rodeo-style bucking broncos are among a host of rides booked. People who have always wondered whether they could make it as a top jockey have the chance to test their skills on the Equicisor - a racing simulator which will be in action in Tattersalls.
But things will be a little bit more competitive on the track, with football club mascots going back to the 1970s on hand to recreate the hit TV show, Superstars.
Yorkie the Lion and TMFKAW - The Mascot Formerly Known as Wobbie - will team up with the infamous Cyril The Swan, the bad tempered mascot of Swansea City, to tackle an inflatable obstacle course, bungee running and gladiator-jousting.
A penalty shoot-out is the exciting finale to the competition, which will be taking place, in between races, throughout the day.
York City players will also be on hand to sign autographs, and chairman John Batchelor will bring his Vauxhall sports car, which is to take part in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, to the track.
The Evening Press is sponsoring the highly-popular event for the third successive year.
Tickets can still be bought in advance through York Racecourse by phoning 01904 620911. Prices are £10 Tattersalls and £20 County Stand.
