SUMMER'S still here. Not only has the beautiful September sun allowed us a few bonus days of the happy season, Mark Rae has shown impeccable timing to slip out this selection of honey-toned delights.

Imagine chilling in your back yard/garden/by the pool as the last few drops are squeezed from a gorgeous sunny day. This is what is playing in the background. One of the tunes on here, the sumptuous Bamburgh Dunes, was inspired by the sunsets near Lindisfarne in Rae's native North East.

The tempo is upped slightly on a couple of tracks, including dub-ragga anti-racism bounce Candystripe, but generally Rae keeps things mellow.

As boss of Grand Central, most of his creative efforts have until now been concentrated on musicians signed to his label and his commitments as half of Rae & Christian. Let's hope he finds more time to do his own thing.
