Don't tell anyone, but I think I might put myself forward for a new job next year. Don't get me wrong, I do intend to keep racing, but I thought I could get myself a Sunday job as well. You know, something different to do on my day off.

And do you know what I had in mind?

Well, you know how York's new professional rugby league club announced their new full name this week -- York City Knights RLFC? And you know how they'll need a new mascot?

Well, without wanting to jump the gun a bit, I kinda thought the new knight mascot would need to have his very own horse. And, guess what, that could be me.

Like I said, I would appreciate it if you kept this to yourself because I don't want to be caught moonlighting.

But just imagine. I could trot around the pitch with this mascot knight on my back. I could neigh loudly and wave at the crowd. I could even do a few high back kicks to excite everyone.

And then when the Knights score, I could do a little dance to the Bee Gees' song Night Fever. Geddit? Knight Fever?

I don't think all this would hinder my career as a race horse -- for a start, all this dancing and jogging around the pitch would be good for me. What's more, I'd get to see a game of rugby league for free.

Anyway, best go. I've got to go practise my dancing moves.

Oh, by the way, I'll probably be racing next week. I've been entered in a nine-furlong 0-65 handicap at Musselburgh on Monday but, if that's not apt, there's a race at Beverley on Wednesday, at Pontefract on Thursday, two at Yarmouth in the week, and a suitable race at Beverley a week tomorrow.

Regards,

Evening Press.
