ST PETER'S School Under-15s rugby union team are back on the Twickenham trail, just six months after their famous success at the home of English rugby, writes Tony Curtis.

Back in March, the boys, then skippered by Michael Morris, lifted the Daily Mail Schools' Under-15s Cup in front of a packed West Stand after beating Outwood Grange 16-7.

However, only scrum-half Peter Wackett is a survivor from that victorious squad as the next generation take their first tentative steps in this year's competition.

The boys, who will again be coached by Maurice Montieth, travel to Bridlington RUFC tomorrow to face Filey School in the first round.

Director of sport Mike Johnson said: "They are a good set of lads, and they are looking forward to a run in the cup."

The early season start to the competition means the squad have yet to play a competitive match, but they have spent the past fortnight training in preparation for their trip to the coast.

The match will kick off at 12.30pm as the curtain-raiser to Bridlington's Yorkshire One match against Old Brods. Victory for St Peter's would pitch them at home to either Horsforth or Prince Henry's Grammar, Otley.
